Um.......why not just put them in your cars sun visor pointing down and hard wire them to the fuse block. This way you don't have to wear anything, they will always be on, you don't need any batteries (the car supplies the power) and they will always flood the drivers face. Who knows, if you decide to sell the car it could prove to be an extra added selling point to someone. O.k, maybe that last bit about the selling point was a stretch. But it's still better than the hat.

ok, the idea of using this kind of light to blind cameras is ok... but really, who wants the entire "wire, tape and battery" thing inside a hat like that? let alone the silly look of led's poking out of your hat...

on the other side, i might use something like this, hidden in a bandanna or something, next time i go for a graffiti night ;)

@Tony: Actually, most cameras are infra-red sensitive even in good lighting. To prove it, get a digital camera and point your TV remote control at it while pressing buttons. However, some security cameras have IR-filters installed which prevent this sort of thing.

This has a major flaw! This will only work if the camera is set for 'night-vision'. Notice in the video that the LED's only dazzle the camera in the last clip where the guys walks into a dark room.

Lets hope these moron criminals use this and get caught. Idiots.

@ llemes, they do use IR LED, maybe your thinking UV works just the same? It does FYI.

Good idea however it is rather obvious when you use a hat like that, not to mention if you have your hat at a certain angle, all of that light will be blocked by the brim. There is another tutorial using glasses which work much better. Also, try experimenting with having the LEDs completely hidden under the hat pointing down at your face effectively flooding your face with IR light from any angle.
