Pierce a balloon without popping it ?!
Published by Cristian April 30th, 2008 in Science. Tags: balloon.Usually, when you pierce a balloon, it goes boooom! But this is not always true, and we I will show you how to do that.

Balloons are made from a lot of polymer chains, invisible to the naked eye. On the sides of the balloon, the polymer chains are stretched to their limit but at the neck of the balloon the polymers are much less stretched. So if you pierce the balloon there , it is enough room to allow the needle between the chains without destroying them.
