Be cool with a homemade air conditioning gadget

Some of us including myself can’t afford an airconditioning device so every idea on how to make one is very welcomed.
You won’t need much except a big fan, some copper and vinyl tubes and an aquarium water pump.
The idea is quite good but the ice will melt and you will need to change it from time to time. Maybe a better idea was to put the container in the fridge and the tubes to go in the fridge through some little holes

This will work only in a low humidity area of the world. Higher humidities will prevent this from working. The reason is that a larger ac unit actually dehumidifies the air to help change the temperature of the air. It takes more energy to change the air temperature one degree with high humidity then low humidity.
Yes, this will certainly work in areas with high humidity. You may have it confused with a swamp cooler. The heat exchanger efficiency may be affected by humidity increase/decrease but heat will be removed regardless.
I built something very similar, check out http://www.gmilburn.ca/ac
