Since I watch videos on Metacafe I found a lot of techniques to remove CD/DVD scratches with a lot of different things I couldn’t even imagine.

So…you can remove scratches from a CD with:

1. A Banana

2.Toothpaste

3. Household items

4. Chewing Gum

5. Kitchen items

6. Salive

7. Chocolate

8.Kethcup

9.Cadles

10.Foreman paste

I dind’t try them all, but I think some of them really work :P .

    toothpaste contains abrasive particles, WTF?

  3. 3 sianz

whatever happened to backing up the damn CD and store the original in a safe place?

  4. 4 Josh

Toothpaste *does* work, the abrasive particles perform a rudimentary version of what a resurfacing machine does. I’ve used this on CDs that have gone from unplayable to 0 skips.

If you use a candle to fix scratches on your CD I will personally come down to where you live and cock slap you for your stupidity.

  8. 8 LOhateVE

The candle one was the worst one, he just turned the cd. you can see the scratches at the top.

Also all these cds were copies… why not just burn another.

    Kethcup? Salive? Cadles?

No doubt chocolate would be the best if CDs shouldn’t have started to scratch by themselves to have some…

hi just to remind one can also remove scratches with sandpaper and a hammer .

  12. 12 wtf

i had much success using a gas stove

Why not semen? CD’s are for pr0n anyway

Toothpaste works yes, but it’s not some mysterious property of toothpaste that does it. And letting it dry is stupid. The reason it works are the tiny abrasive particles in it. It would work a lot BETTER if you rubbed it around a lot to effectively resurface your CD. Brasso works even better for the same reasons, though the fumes are are a drawback. Chocolate also works for the same reasons. Tiny abrasions resurface the CD by removing a really thin layer of the plastic. Lastly, don’t use a candle. That’s just stupid. If you don’t have brasso, toothpaste should work, but I’d recommend brasso.

I’ve tried to rub a brick with a CD. It leaves a nice shiny metallic finish on the brick, very cool. Will try with a DVD soon.

Well i’m pissed. I tried the toothpaste one, ’sept my CD is REALLY scratched so i left it on a bit longer. Put it in my playstation, still couldn’t read the cd, “BULLSHITTT!”
Did I do something wrong? =/ Maybe more toothpaste…?
Blah. Knew it was too good to be true.

  22. 22 joe

just use Oil. e.g Balm, coconut oil. and rinse

  23. 23 Tooth paste ftw

The tooth paste has some microscopic peices of sand and shit in it which buffers the cd
